A club statement read: "Liverpool FC can confirm the departures of Sipke Hulshoff, Ruben Peeters and Giovanni van Bronckhorst from the coaching staff. The three will now leave their posts following the announcement of Slot's departure as head coach last month. Everybody at LFC thanks Sipke, Ruben and Gio for all their efforts and contributions to the club and wishes them the best for the future."
Hulshoff joined as first assistant coach and Peeters as lead physical performance coach when Slot arrived from Feyenoord in the summer of 2024, both having worked with him in Rotterdam. Their first season delivered Liverpool's 20th English top-flight title, clinched at Anfield with four games to spare. Van Bronckhorst, the former Arsenal, Barcelona and Netherlands international, joined last summer as an assistant coach, replacing John Heitinga after his move to become Ajax head coach.
Peeters had already signalled his departure on LinkedIn the day after Slot's sacking was confirmed.
"After two unforgettable seasons at Liverpool FC, it is time to say goodbye. Winning the Premier League together will always be a special memory and the ultimate highlight of this incredible journey.
"But above all, I'm grateful for two years of going to work every day with such enthusiasm, surrounded by amazing colleagues and great people. Thank you to everyone at Liverpool FC for the trust, support and unforgettable moments."
First-team tactical analyst Roderick van der Ham, another appointment with Feyenoord roots, is also expected to leave. Van Bronckhorst is reported to be in line for a director's role at Feyenoord, who recently parted with head coach Robin van Persie.
The departures clear the path for Iraola, who is yet to formally confirm his own backroom team since his appointment earlier this month. According to multiple reports, Iraola wants to bring assistants Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper, analyst Tom Webber and fitness coach Pablo de la Torre with him from Bournemouth. Elphick turned down the chance to take the Bristol City job last week, a decision widely read as confirmation he intends to follow Iraola to Merseyside.
Because Elphick, Cooper and Webber remain under contract at Bournemouth, Liverpool will need to negotiate compensation for each. De la Torre, by contrast, is not under contract and could join more straightforwardly.
Other recent Slot-era additions — goalkeeping coaches Xavi Valero and Colin Stewart, and individual lead coach Luiz Fernando Iubel — were less closely tied to the outgoing manager personally and may yet remain part of Iraola's setup.
The reconstruction of Liverpool's coaching structure is, in other words, well under way — even before a ball has been kicked in the new Spaniard's first competitive fixture.
