The 18-year-old Mexican attacking midfielder has been linked with a possible move to Europe, with Liverpool among the clubs reported to be monitoring him. Iraola was asked about the prospect after Tuesdayâs 4-3 Champions League victory over Villarreal, but made clear he would not discuss the playerâs situation in detail.
âLetâs see, not only because of what heâs doing,â Iraola told TNT Sports Mexico.
The Liverpool manager then explained why he is reluctant to discuss transfer targets or players contracted to other teams.
âSometimes you ask me about players, but I canât speak about players who donât play for us, can I? In the end, itâs about respect.â
He added that respect between clubs should guide such conversations, while indicating that he would rather keep his personal assessment to himself.
âThere has to be respect between clubs, and if youâll allow me, of course I have my own opinion. But I prefer not to comment on players who donât play for Liverpool.â
The response does not confirm or rule out Liverpoolâs interest. Instead, Iraola chose to keep the focus on professional boundaries rather than fuel speculation around a potential move.
Mora plays for Club Tijuana in Mexico and has attracted attention as one of the countryâs most promising young attacking players. His 18th birthday earlier this month means he is now old enough to move abroad under FIFAâs age-related rules.
Liverpoolâs interest has been reported previously, although speculation about a clubâs pursuit of a player should not be taken as evidence that negotiations or a formal offer are in place. Reports have also linked other European sides with Mora.
The teenager has already made his senior debut for Mexico and featured at the 2026 World Cup, giving him experience on a major international stage despite his age. His development at Club Tijuana is likely to remain under scrutiny as clubs assess whether to pursue him.
Iraolaâs comments leave Liverpoolâs position unclear. For now, the manager has declined to add to the transfer discussion, preferring to avoid public remarks about a player who remains contracted to another club.
