The Barcelona president spoke to Catalunya Ràdio programme Tot Costa as it celebrated its 10th anniversary, discussing the club's sporting ambitions, its relationship with Real Madrid and several issues involving the squad.
Laporta said the Champions League remains a major objective.
“We aspire to win the Champions League. We are working to achieve it. We have a great squad, a very good one, and a very capable coach. The players are highly motivated. The objective is to fight for everything.”
He also reflected on his time as president, claiming Barcelona had stabilised itself while continuing to collect silverware and build a new stadium.
“When I look back at the last few years, I take away that we have saved the club. It is everyone's merit. We have done it while winning trophies and building a new stadium. In these five years we have won three leagues. There have been historic seasons, beating our great rival in every game. Barcelona fans have got their joy back.”
Relations with Real Madrid remain strained, particularly following Pérez's comments regarding the Negreira case.
Laporta said Barcelona would continue defending its reputation ahead of a conciliation hearing scheduled for November 25.
“We defend Barcelona's honour. His statements were false. His only interest is to insult and harm Barcelona. Madrid acted unacceptably. Barcelona will be acquitted; Madrid is prolonging it with a discourse that does not stand up. The relationship is non-existent.”
Laporta also described Barcelona's relationship with Atlético Madrid as improved after disagreements between the clubs.
“We have embraced with Gil Marín. We have occasional disagreements, but we prioritise the good personal relationship and the relationship between the two institutions.”
On Raphinha's injury, Laporta said the international break had created another problem for Barcelona.
“It is news that has upset us. We are waiting for the scan and we already know that these breaks can cause these things.”
Speaking about Lamine Yamal, he compared the winger's qualities with several of football's biggest names.
“He is a player who entertains the spectator. He remains at a very high level. We have all seen things in Lamine that remind us of Messi. He has been the best player in the world. He also reminds me of Neymar and Ronaldinho. He has traits of all these players who have marked an era.”
Laporta also praised his relationship with Atlético chief exec Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, while saying Barcelona would continue concentrating on results rather than events elsewhere.
