Karim Benzema believes Paris Saint-Germain’s collective strength is the reason for their dominance, while Real Madrid are suffering from a lack of cohesion.

Speaking during an Instagram Live session, the former Madrid striker praised Luis Enrique’s side for functioning as a true team.

“At PSG, when the coach makes changes, the players who come on contribute even more,” Benzema, now with Al-Hilal, said.

“They all know exactly what they have to do.”

Benzema contrasted that with the current issues at Real Madrid.

“At Real Madrid it is more complicated because they do not play as much as a team. The group is suffering from that lack of cohesion.”

He also suggested PSG’s strength lies beyond superstar names.

“The most well-known person at PSG is Luis Enrique,” he added.

“They are a real team.”

PSG have impressed throughout the season with their depth and tactical structure, while Madrid have faced criticism after a disappointing campaign.

Benzema remains a hugely respected voice in Spanish football after his trophy-laden spell at the Bernabeu.
