Juventus are continuing to monitor Michael Kayode as part of a wider plan to build a stronger Italian core at the club.
Juventus chief executive Giovanni Carnevali has made clear his desire to bring more Italian players to Turin, with the club focusing particularly on younger players who can develop over time.
“I would also like to take young players, so the desire is to include young players who have prospects,” Carnevali said at the Festival dello Sport in Trento.
Among the players being monitored is Kayode, the Brentford full-back who came through Juventus’ youth system before moving to Fiorentina and later joining the Premier League club in January 2025.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus have followed his progress for several seasons and remain interested despite the difficulty of negotiating with an English club.
Kayode has also become increasingly valuable after establishing himself at Brentford, meaning any move back to Turin would require Juventus to negotiate from a different position to the one they occupied when the defender was developing in their academy.
The interest is part of a broader recruitment strategy outlined by Carnevali and sporting director Frederic Massara, with Juventus looking at several Italian prospects rather than focusing on one position.
Frosinone goalkeeper Lorenzo Palmisani is another name on the club’s radar. Juventus are considering him for the future, with the report suggesting they could look to secure his services early before bringing him to Continassa at the end of the season.
The club are also tracking Italian midfielders and forwards, but Kayode stands out because of his previous connection with Juventus and his progress in England.
His route from the Juventus academy to Fiorentina and then Brentford has given him experience outside Italy, while his development has kept him on the radar of his former club.
For Juventus, the interest reflects Carnevali’s stated intention to restore a stronger Italian identity to the squad while continuing to target players with room for development.
Kayode is therefore among the young Italian players being watched as the club considers how to shape its squad for the seasons ahead.
