Juventus chase Camavinga loan but must move Koopmeiners first

Juventus are pursuing a loan move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, with La Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that the idea has the backing of the club's senior management.

But the deal is contingent on first finding a buyer for Teun Koopmeiners, whose two disappointing seasons in Turin have left his future at the Allianz Stadium unresolved.

Camavinga, 23, started only 16 La Liga matches for Real Madrid this season and was not included in Didier Deschamps's France squad for the World Cup β€” a significant public statement about his standing at the club. He is understood to have no desire to leave Madrid permanently, but could be tempted by a loan to a prestigious European club where he would be guaranteed a central midfield role and consistent playing time.

Juventus believe they can offer exactly that. Having relied heavily on Manuel Locatelli and KhΓ©phren Thuram this season, new technical director Damien Comolli's recruitment priorities, guided by head coach Luciano Spalletti, identify midfield reinforcement as the area most in need of attention. Camavinga's profile β€” dynamic, press-resistant, capable of operating at left-back in an emergency β€” fits what Spalletti wants.

The obstacle is Koopmeiners. The Dutch midfielder has endured two consecutive difficult seasons since joining from Atalanta for €59 million in 2024 and Juventus must sell him for at least €31 million by June 30 to avoid a capital loss on their books. That threshold is proving difficult to reach. The club is open to a loan with an obligation to buy set at €20 million by 2027 as a compromise.

Koopmeiners has been linked with a swap move involving Roma's Evan Ndicka, a player also interesting Inter Milan. Whether Juventus can untangle the Koopmeiners situation quickly enough to move on Camavinga before the window closes will determine whether the Real Madrid loan becomes reality or remains an aspiration.
