Félix's future has once again been discussed during the latest edition of La Pizarra de Radio MARCA, with Moretto outlining the player's reported preference while stressing that no move is currently close.
“João Félix would love to return to Barça, but he has no place.”
The forward spent time at Barcelona during the 2023/24 season on loan from Atletico Madrid, producing moments of quality before returning to his parent club.
Moretto believes Félix's technical profile and previous experience in Spain would make him a natural fit for Barcelona's style of football.
“Because of the style of football João Félix has, because of his physical structure, his technical level and his knowledge of LaLiga in Spain, he fits a lot and at Barça even more...”
However, that suitability does not necessarily translate into a transfer opportunity.
The journalist was careful to stress that the information currently amounts to Félix's desire rather than evidence of an active Barcelona operation.
“But there are things left... For now there is nothing more than this.”
Félix's future therefore remains dependent on several factors, including Barcelona's squad structure and whether space becomes available for another attacking player.
His previous spell at the club demonstrated why Barcelona could appeal to him, but the current situation means any return would require circumstances to change.
For now, the reported interest is coming from the player's side, while Moretto's comments do not indicate that negotiations are taking place.
That leaves Félix with an expressed desire to return to Catalonia but without a clear route back to the Barcelona squad at this stage.
