Benjamin Pavard and Kristjan Asllani are both set to leave Inter Milan again this summer, having returned from loan spells at Marseille and Besiktas respectively.

The French defender and Albanian midfielder do not fit into Cristian Chivu's plans and their stay at Appiano Gentile is expected to be only temporary.

Pavard, a 2018 World Cup winner with France, joined Inter from Bayern Munich in 2023 before being loaned to Marseille last September, while Asllani came through Empoli's academy before signing for Inter in 2022 and spending time on loan at both Torino and Besiktas.

According to L'Interista, Inter Milan have set a valuation of between €12million and €15million for each player's registration.

The figure is considered fair enough to encourage negotiations without the club giving up an important fee.

Beyond the financial side, any sales would also help ease the burden on Inter's wage bill, a point particularly relevant for Pavard, one of the higher earners in the current squad.

Sporting director Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are aiming to complete both departures before pre-season training begins.

Elsewhere, Inter have also been offered a different centre-back option, with John Stones proposed to the club following his departure from Manchester City as a free agent, according to Matteo Moretto.

It is no secret that Inter plan to sign two central defenders this summer following the exits of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.

With Como pushing hard for Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah, Stones has emerged once again as an option for the Nerazzurri.

The England international, whose contract at the Etihad Stadium expired this summer after ten trophy-laden years at the club, would arrive on a free transfer.

Stones previously came close to interesting Inter in past transfer windows, with representatives for the Englishman having made contact before, though no move materialised at the time.

The situation is different now given his contract status, and Stones would also be reunited with former City team-mate Manuel Akanji, who joined Inter last summer.

The 32-year-old would represent a significant addition for Chivu's rebuilding defence, though the club must first decide whether a reunion with Akanji makes more sense than pursuing other targets in the coming weeks.
