Solet, 26, has emerged as the priority defensive addition to replace the outgoing Francesco Acerbi and Stefan De Vrij. Inter Milan have submitted an offer of around €23m for the French centre-back, short of Udinese's asking price of between €25m and €30m, but the gap is closing.
A key asset in the negotiation is Solet himself: he has already agreed personal terms with Inter on a five-year deal worth €2.5m a season and reportedly told former Inter legend Adriano of his desire to join during a recent stay in Brazil.
Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, 32, is also on the verge of completing his move to serve as back-up to Yann Sommer, with the Italian expected in Milan for his medical shortly.
The midfield situation is more complicated. Inter hold a firm interest in Curtis Jones, whose contract at Liverpool expires in June 2027, and the England international has indicated a preference for San Siro.
The two clubs remain far apart — Liverpool are seeking close to £30m while Inter's offer stands at €20m — but Inter believe Jones's desire to leave constitutes useful leverage. A sale of Davide Frattesi, which the club have greenlit, would free both budget and a midfield space.
Separately, Sport Bild reports that Bayern Munich have made initial enquiries about defender Yann Bisseck. The Germany international, 25, has attracted wide attention after Inter's Serie A title win, and Bayern are understood to be assessing defensive options ahead of next season.
No formal offer for Bisseck has been received and Inter are not looking to sell. His agent has indicated the player is content at San Siro.
