Marc Guehi described the FA Cup final victory over Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday as a source of enormous collective pride, as Manchester City completed a domestic double with a 1-0 win secured by Antoine Semenyo's second-half backheel finish.

The centre-back, speaking to TNT Sports after the final whistle, reflected on what the trophy means to a squad that has endured a more turbulent season than City's supporters have come to expect.

"Super proud of every single person. Everyone at the football club deserves nothing less than this."

Guehi, who lifted the FA Cup with Crystal Palace in 2025 before joining Manchester City, was asked to compare the two triumphs. He was measured in his response, drawing a distinction between the personal significance of his first trophy and the emotional context of this one.

"To be honest, they're both equally as nice. The one with Palace was a different occasion. It was my first trophy. This one, especially after the tough season, they're both equally amazing."

The defender also addressed what comes next, with England's World Cup campaign approaching and a busy summer ahead on multiple fronts. He offered a notable endorsement of Pep Guardiola, whose future at City beyond the current season remains unresolved.

"There is a lot going on. I might need a new pair of legs. Exciting times ahead. Everyone would love him to stay. Legend in football and I have learnt so much since coming here."

Guardiola collected his twentieth major honour as City manager with the win. Whether he remains in the dugout for a potential title push โ€” City sit behind Arsenal with two Premier League games remaining โ€” is among the most significant questions in English football heading into the summer.
