The 33-year-old travelled to Madrid to finalise his contract and pass a medical, ending two seasons at Son Moix during which he made 71 appearances for Mallorca, scoring once and adding six assists, according to the Balearic club's official statement.
Mojica had long been on Getafe's radar as a profile suited to José Bordalás's physical, demanding style of play, and his arrival fills a gap left after Diego Rico's contract expired without renewal, with academy graduate Davinchi otherwise the only recognised option at left-back. Getafe are believed to have paid a modest fee, with Mallorca said to have been seeking somewhere between €500,000 and €1m before the deal was finalised.
A product of Deportivo Cali's academy in his native Colombia, Mojica has built an extensive career in Spanish football, previously representing Rayo Vallecano, Real Valladolid, Girona, Elche, Villarreal and Osasuna, as well as a spell at Atalanta in Italy — Getafe are his eighth club in the country.
Across more than a decade as a professional, he has made close to 400 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 18 assists, and represented Colombia at this year's World Cup.
His most recent campaign at Mallorca showed his durability rather than any decline: in 2024-25 alone he played 36 La Liga matches, started 30 of them, and racked up 2,755 minutes, contributing a goal and two assists from left-back.
That level of continuity is rare for a player of his age and was a key factor in convincing Getafe's sporting department to finally complete a deal they had circled for years.
Tactically, Mojica offers Bordalás versatility down the left, capable of playing as an orthodox full-back or further forward as a wing-back, where his pace, range and delivery into the box are best utilised.
His profile also allows him to operate as an inside forward in a 4-4-2, potentially forming a double act on the left with emerging full-back Davinchi or Argentine defender Zaid Romero, giving Getafe defensive solidity without sacrificing depth going forward. He is already working under Bordalás at the club's Coliseum training base, set to play his home matches in the Spanish capital for the first time in his career.
