Uche moved to Selhurst Park last September as part of an arrangement that would have seen Palace buy him permanently for around €20 million if he started ten Premier League matches.
He managed 14 appearances, all from the bench, falling short of the threshold. Crystal Palace are entitled to exercise a discretionary purchase option regardless but are expected to allow the loan to expire.
Getafe sporting director Toni Muñoz confirmed the situation publicly ahead of Sunday's home game against Rayo Vallecano.
"It's taken for granted because the player hasn't met the objective and it's evident he's coming back."
The return creates a problem for a club that sent Uche out on loan precisely to generate the budget space to register other signings.
His reappearance on the wage bill will require Getafe to either sell him this summer — despite the diminished leverage that comes from his limited Premier League exposure — or find another mechanism to balance their accounts under La Liga's financial fair play rules.
Muñoz was careful not to reduce the club's summer to this single issue, framing the immediate priorities around the final weeks of the season.
"The summer is going to be very long. Right now what we're focused on is today's game, that the players are in good shape. And recovering Borja Mayoral. Then the summer, like for all clubs, will be long and intense."
He was also asked about the future of head coach José Bordalás, whose contract is up for discussion.
"The timing is always set by the president. With the year we've had, having almost achieved the objective, the manager knows the doors are open for the president to speak with him."
Getafe sit 12th in La Liga with three games remaining, six points clear of the relegation zone and on course to confirm their top-flight status for another season.
