Celtic are considered a possible destination for Fredricson, having previously agreed a loan move for the centre-back in January that ultimately collapsed after he suffered an injury before the deal could be completed.
Interest from elsewhere in Europe could also be an option should the academy graduate decide against a move to Scotland.
Fredricson made his senior debut for United under Ruben Amorim during the 2024-25 season and was part of the club's FA Youth Cup-winning side in 2022, but has managed only a handful of first-team appearances since, with regular football proving hard to come by at Old Trafford.
His omission from Michael Carrick's matchday squad for the Wrexham game, despite the continued absence of United's World Cup contingent, was seen as a clear signal that his time at the club is coming to an end.
Manchester United have already been active in trimming their squad this summer, and Fredricson's departure would continue that trend as Carrick looks to reshape his defensive options following the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans in midfield.
Should a permanent exit be finalised, it would bring an end to Fredricson's eight years at the club, giving him the chance to pursue regular senior football either north of the border or elsewhere in Europe.
