Marcus Rashford returned to Old Trafford over the summer following 18 months away on loan, first at Aston Villa in the second half of 2024-25 after being frozen out by then-manager Ruben Amorim, before a season-long spell at Barcelona.
With the Spanish club opting against making that move permanent, instead spending £70 million on Everton's Anthony Gordon, Rashford was given a fresh chance at his boyhood club under head coach Michael Carrick.
Captain Bruno Fernandes revealed the 28-year-old has quickly settled back into United's morning routine at Carrington, though one teammate remains impossible to beat into the building.
"Normally, always Diogo. He's always here first," Fernandes told Sky Sports. "This season, also Rashy, and Ben are normally the ones that arrive early, together with me. But obviously it depends, because I sometimes like to drop my kids at school, so sometimes I get in even earlier because they are at school at 8:20 or 8:30.
"So I come straight away and I get here early. But normally Diogo is already here."
Rashford, who has scored 138 goals across his United career, has started the club's last two Premier League matches after coming off the bench at half-time during the opening-day defeat to Hull. He has yet to register a goal or assist this season but has looked lively on the wing, with Carrick pleased by his overall contribution since returning.
"Really pleased with Marcus. Really pleased with him, so many ways. I think it's pretty obvious with his performances," Carrick said following Thursday's 4-0 Champions League win over Sabah, in which Rashford was an unused substitute.
"He was a real threat on Sunday, unfortunate not to get a little bit more success, but he was a real threat. He's doing a lot of things really well and settled back in really quickly. It was nice to keep Marcus fresh for the weekend."
Manchester United face Manchester City in Sunday's derby at Old Trafford, a game in which Rashford is expected to again feature prominently having established himself as a regular under Carrick since his return.
