The 26-year-old winger has been assessing his options for six weeks since leaving Old Trafford, with Borussia Dortmund — the club where he made 158 appearances across two spells before his 2021 move to Manchester United — among those interested in a third stint.
Sancho, who cost United £73m when he signed from Dortmund, is said to be open to all offers but leans toward a return to continental Europe rather than staying in England. Fiorentina have also been credited with interest, while contact with Dortmund is understood to remain ongoing despite the financial gap between his current wage demands and what the German club would be able to offer.
Sancho spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, making 39 appearances as Unai Emery's side secured Champions League qualification and won the Europa League, with Sancho coming on as a late substitute in the final win over Freiburg — his third European final appearance in as many seasons.
Aston Villa held an option to sign him permanently after that success but chose not to exercise it. The previous season he spent on loan at Chelsea, making 41 appearances in a deal that included an obligation to buy, though Chelsea ultimately paid a £5m penalty to return him to United rather than complete the permanent transfer.
With no club yet in place, Sancho has been training at non-league Flixton to stay fit ahead of the new season, a stark contrast to the level he was operating at during his best years in Germany.
