Conte has been without a club since leaving Napoli and was previously considered for the Italy job, but he has indicated that he is enjoying a period away from management rather than rushing into his next appointment.
"I am still enjoying my holiday," Conte said during a video message for Juventus' 1996 Champions League anniversary celebrations.
The Italian was part of that Juventus side and said he was enjoying having the opportunity to rest and relax after a demanding period in management.
Conte's name has nevertheless been linked with Manchester United, where Michael Carrick has come under pressure following a poor start to the season. A return to England would represent another opportunity for Conte after previous spells with Chelsea and Tottenham.
The 57-year-old has also explained what he would want from his next project. He is attracted to clubs with a strong history and believes a manager must be able to restore the ambition associated with that history.
"If you come to a club where history speaks for itself โ a history marked by trophies, league titles and victories โ there is only one way to honour that history: by having the ambition to bring the club back to competing for those objectives," Conte told The Athletic.
He also made clear that financial resources alone are not enough to guarantee success, using a colourful comparison to describe the advantage enjoyed by Premier League clubs.
"In the Premier League they use bazookas, while elsewhere they still use pistols," Conte said.
The former Chelsea manager believes the difference in spending power makes careful recruitment and planning essential, rather than simply throwing money at problems.
Conte's comments will inevitably fuel speculation over his next destination, particularly given the uncertainty surrounding Manchester United. However, his immediate message is that he is not desperate to return.
The Italian appears to be waiting for a project that matches his ambitions, particularly one at a club that has lost some connection with its former success and wants to restore it.
"I would like to go to such a club, dust off its history and make it shine again," Conte said.
