LaRoma24 reports that a fresh meeting between AS Roma's leadership and Dybala's agent Carlos Novel is expected to take place after the Verona game.
The club has explicitly asked to wait until their European status for next season is mathematically confirmed before addressing the contract question in full. Champions League participation would significantly change the financial parameters of any offer, and Dybala himself has made clear that competing in Europe's top club competition is a central factor in his own decision-making.
Roma currently sit fourth in Serie A following Sunday's 2-0 derby win over Lazio, two points ahead of fifth-placed Juventus. A win at Verona on the final day would guarantee Champions League football regardless of other results.
The 32-year-old Argentine's contract expires this summer. His situation had appeared to be heading toward a move to Boca Juniors in Argentina, but reports from earlier this week suggested he is now open to staying in the Italian capital on reduced wages. Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini was asked about the situation after the derby win.
"Both the player and the club want to continue together. I would be very happy for him and for the many players whose contracts expire, who showed professionalism and love for the club."
Both parties are described internally as relaxed about the process. Contacts have remained continuous throughout the season and there are no ultimatums or signs of a breakdown. The expectation from those close to the talks is that the next few weeks will produce a resolution.
