Anastasios Douvikas and Lucas Da Cunha were delighted after Como's extraordinary 9-1 victory over Lens, with the Greek striker scoring a hat-trick in a historic European performance.

Douvikas opened the scoring after seven minutes at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, doubled Como's advantage in the 32nd minute and completed his treble shortly after the break. Da Cunha also got on the scoresheet, making it 4-0 two minutes into the second half as Como overwhelmed their French opponents.

For Douvikas, the individual achievement was special, but the result mattered more than his personal tally.

"It was a magnificent evening for us. We're happy with the victory and my three goals. I'm pleased, but the most important thing is the three points. We want to continue like this in the next match," he told Sky Sport.

The striker was also keen to acknowledge the contribution of his team-mates, who helped him produce such a memorable performance.

"It's an honour to be here. I'm happy that my team-mates help me so much. It's really good news."

Douvikas is experiencing his first season in the Champions League, but believes Como's approach has allowed them to compete with confidence despite their relative lack of experience at this level.

"I think the whole team has played well in all the matches. We always create chances and take control of the pitch. I don't know how it's possible in our first year, but we're managing to do it."

He also explained the mentality behind Como's attacking approach.

"I think it's the team's mentality. We try to have possession, move forward and attack quickly. Today we created a lot of opportunities and that's the style we want to adopt."

The Greek forward insisted the team's appetite for success was growing with every victory.

"We have a lot of hunger, and when you win you always want more. Now we're on six consecutive victories and we're hungry to play more matches."

Captain Da Cunha shared the excitement, describing the result as an extraordinary occasion for the club.

"It's an incredible night. We started with a lot of desire, we wanted to take the three points, like we always do, and this evening we were able to do that."

The Portuguese midfielder also urged caution despite the scale of the achievement.

"It's a crazy night and a crazy result, but we can't get ahead of ourselves. We came for the three points and that's what we were able to secure."

With six consecutive victories behind them, Como can enjoy a remarkable European evening before turning their attention to the next challenge. As both players made clear, the focus must remain on continuing the team's progress rather than celebrating one result for too long.
