Bruno Génésio left Gomes out of his core plans during the player's final year at Lille, and although the coach, now in charge at Marseille, has used him during pre-season, he does not appear to have a major role lined up for him next season.
Following a disappointing spell at Wolves, the midfielder is looking for another opportunity in the Premier League, having previously said in an interview that he remains open to playing "anywhere" given the uncertainty over his Marseille future.
Frank Lampard's side have come forward and asked about the former Manchester United academy product, and Marseille, who are looking to move him on, would not stand in his way should Coventry make a concrete push, though there is no indication yet of the newly promoted club advancing the interest any further.
