Chelsea are reportedly increasing their interest in Nico Paz after the Como midfielder starred in his side’s 4-1 Champions League victory over Manchester United.

The Argentine attacking midfielder was among the standout performers as Como produced a historic result, further strengthening his reputation as one of the most exciting young players in Italian football.

According to reports from Tuttomercatoweb, Chelsea have sent scouts to watch Paz on multiple occasions and are closely following his development. The club are not alone in their interest: Tottenham Hotspur reportedly had several bids rejected during the summer transfer window.

Como would be reluctant to lose a player who has become central to their attacking play. The Italian club are also in a strong negotiating position, with reports suggesting they would demand a fee well above the value of Real Madrid’s buy-back option before considering a sale to another interested club.

Real Madrid retain an €80 million option to buy Paz back for the 2027-28 season, following an agreement that allows him to remain at Como for the current campaign. That clause is separate from any price Como might demand from Chelsea or another club.

Paz’s performance against United has added to the attention surrounding him, but a move is not guaranteed. Chelsea’s reported scouting activity indicates interest rather than a formal offer, and Como have little reason to accept a bid that does not meet their valuation.

For Chelsea, the attraction is clear: Paz offers creativity and attacking threat in a player who is still developing. However, any pursuit would have to account for both Como’s stance and Real Madrid’s contractual rights.

With the January transfer window approaching, the Argentine’s future is likely to remain a subject of speculation. For now, Chelsea’s interest is reported, while Como continue to hold the player’s registration and Real Madrid retain their future buy-back option.
