Chelsea have renewed their interest in Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix, according to the Daily Mail.

Lacroix, 26, left Wolfsburg for Palace in the summer of 2024, and has since become a regular fixture in the English club's starting line-up.

The French centre-back scored three goals and provided three assists in 55 competitive appearances for Palace last season, underlining his growing importance to the side.

He holds a contract with Palace that runs until the summer of 2029.

Last week, L'Equipe reported that Lacroix wants to leave Crystal Palace ahead of next season, opening the door to a potential summer move.

Interest from Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa has emerged, with Bayern Munich also since being linked with the defender.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have now placed Lacroix on their list of potential summer signings as they continue to assess their options at centre-back.

The report also states that Arsenal and Real Madrid have shown interest in the Frenchman, adding further competition for his signature.

Crystal Palace finished 15th in the Premier League last season, but enjoyed considerable success elsewhere, winning the Conference League to secure European football for the upcoming campaign.

Palace will compete in the Europa League next season as a result of that triumph, giving the club a stronger platform from which to resist offers for key players such as Lacroix.

The growing list of suitors reflects Lacroix's rising profile since his move from Germany, with his performances in a struggling Palace side last season doing little to dampen the level of interest from elsewhere in Europe.
