The Cherries are reportedly willing to sanction a departure for a fee of around £100 million following further discussions with the 23-year-old’s representatives. The change comes after Bournemouth insisted throughout the recent international break that Scott was not for sale.
Scott has been pushing for a move after rejecting two contract offers at the end of last season. His current deal, signed after his £25 million move from Bristol City in 2023, runs until 2028.
Bournemouth’s willingness to negotiate would not automatically mean a January exit. The club’s position in the Premier League table will be a significant factor, with the possibility of retaining Scott if they are fighting near the bottom and need him to help secure their top-flight status.
The reported valuation represents a substantial increase on the bids made during the summer. Chelsea tested Bournemouth’s resolve with an initial offer of £60 million, rising to £64 million in add-ons, but the proposal was rejected.
Chelsea remain interested, while Liverpool are also believed to be monitoring the situation. Liverpool’s connection with Scott is strengthened by his previous relationship with Andoni Iraola, who worked with the midfielder at Bournemouth. Chelsea have also reportedly received encouragement from Scott’s representatives to pursue a deal.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham were among the clubs linked with the midfielder during the summer, although they are understood to have shifted their attention towards other targets.
Scott’s immediate availability is another consideration. He is expected to miss at least a month after sustaining a thigh injury while playing for England in their 7-0 Nations League victory over Croatia.
The midfielder has established himself as an important player for Bournemouth and has progressed into the England setup, increasing his appeal to clubs seeking a technically accomplished option in midfield.
A January transfer would therefore depend on several factors: a bid close to Bournemouth’s reported £100 million valuation, Scott’s own wishes and the Cherries’ position in the league. Until those conditions align, the club retain control of a player contracted for another two years beyond the current season.
