Brighton owner Tony Bloom is refusing to worry about speculation over Fabian Hürzeler’s future despite growing interest in the German head coach.

Hürzeler is in his third season in charge at Brighton and has continued to attract attention after guiding the club into the Premier League’s leading positions.

The 33-year-old has previously been linked with other clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen, while further sides are understood to be monitoring his progress.

Bloom, however, believes the normal movement of managers and players should not distract Brighton from the club’s long-term development.

“There are many things in the world that you can worry about, but losing a head coach or players isn’t one of them,” Bloom told The Athletic.

“Of course, you really don’t want it, but head coaches come and go, players come and go, but the football club is the only thing that hopefully lasts forever. So it doesn’t make sense to think about these things.”

Bloom’s comments underline the confidence Brighton have in Hürzeler while acknowledging that successful managers will inevitably attract interest from elsewhere.

The German coach has continued to develop the side since arriving at the club and has maintained Brighton’s reputation for giving young managers an opportunity at Premier League level.

Bloom added that he believes Hürzeler is happy with the club and said Brighton are very satisfied with his work.

“I believe Fabian is very happy at the club; we are very happy with him, so hopefully that will continue for a long time,” Bloom said.

Brighton therefore appear relaxed about the speculation surrounding their head coach, with Bloom placing the club’s longer-term identity above the possibility of losing individual figures.

Hürzeler’s future could continue to attract attention if his results remain strong, but Brighton’s owner has made clear that he will not allow speculation over the manager to become a distraction.
