Bologna have reached an agreement with Roma to sign Dovbyk on loan with an option to buy set at €18 million, as further details emerged on a deal already confirmed in principle by Tuttomercatoweb.
The Ukraine international is due to arrive in Bologna on Tuesday alongside fellow new signing Mikel Amondarain, a midfielder bought from Estudiantes for €10.5 million.
The move comes as part of a wider reshuffle in Bologna's forward line following Santiago Castro's departure to AS Roma. Dovbyk, 29, has been in Italy since 2024, when Roma paid Girona €41 million for him after an outstanding campaign in Catalonia, but he was unable to reproduce that form in the capital, scoring 20 goals in 63 appearances across two seasons.
He will now look to rebuild his career under Domenico Tedesco, who is understood to have played a key role in convincing the striker to accept the move.
While Bologna strengthen their attack, they may simultaneously be facing the loss of a defensive mainstay. Como have opened talks over a move for centre-back Jhon Lucumí, according to Fabrizio Romano, intensifying contact with both the club and the player's representatives as they look to add experience to Cesc Fábregas's backline.
The Colombian, who made 43 appearances with a goal and an assist last season, is considered one of the pillars of Tedesco's side, but Bologna would be open to a sale in the face of a satisfactory offer.
Juventus have also tracked Lucumí since June and remain his preferred destination, having held talks over players including Fabio Miretti as part of a possible deal, though the Turin club have since cooled their pursuit while they assess other options, including John Stones.
Inter Milan have been credited with interest too but are not understood to have advanced discussions, while Galatasaray, Besiktas and Bournemouth have also been mentioned among his suitors.
For now, Como are viewed as the most active of the group, having already moved past the exploratory stage that characterised their earlier interest, though Bologna are not expected to sell cheaply given the World Cup exposure Lucumí gained with Colombia this summer and a €28 million release clause that only recently expired from his contract.
