The winger, son of celebrated bullfighter Morante de la Puebla, has risen quickly through the ranks over the past year. He made his first-team debut in a UEFA Europa League fixture, established himself as a key figure for Betis Deportivo, and capped his campaign with a starring role for Spain's Under-19s, with whom he won the European title while finishing as the tournament's top scorer.
Born on 28 June 2007, Morante joined Betis's academy as a youth player and has become one of the standout figures at the club's Heliopolis training base. By the end of the 2025-26 campaign, his development had become impossible to ignore, and he found himself increasingly close to a regular role with the senior squad.
The numbers back up that development. Morante scored seven goals for Betis Deportivo and a further seven for the Juvenil División de Honor side, with whom he played in the UEFA Youth League, while also playing a decisive role in winning the Copa del Rey Juvenil, where he scored and assisted in the final. A year earlier he had already lifted the Copa de Campeones with the club, underlining a steadily rising trajectory through the youth ranks.
His biggest shop window, however, came this summer with the Spain squad. Morante was one of the most influential players at the European U19 Championship, playing a decisive part in the title win and sharing the tournament's top scorer award, a performance that has cemented his place among the most promising young talents in Spanish football.
With the contract now extended to 2030, Real Betis have secured the long-term future of one of their most promising academy graduates while sending a clear message of faith in a player who has earned the right to keep pushing for a place in the first-team squad.
He is expected to report to Manuel Pellegrini's pre-season plans next week as he looks to fight for a place in the rotation.
