"We sold Noel Aseko, which freed up a squad spot that Bara should get. This arrangement with Gambinos Stars isn't entirely straightforward. But he's here and has permission to join the Asia tour. It all just needs to be legally secured first. Once that's done, we can make it official," Eberl told reporters, according to Sky Germany.
Bayern will pay comfortably under โฌ5 million to Gambinos Stars Africa, the Gambian academy that has partnered with Bayern's Red&Gold Football joint venture, also involving MLS side Los Angeles FC, since 2023, with the deal set to run until 2031.
Ndiaye, 18, first arrived in Munich on loan in January and made four Bundesliga appearances in the second half of last season, starting twice under head coach Vincent Kompany, who has been a driving force behind making the move permanent. His debut came as a substitute in a 5-0 win over St. Pauli, wearing the number 39 shirt. He also featured for Senegal at this year's World Cup, appearing in the group-stage win over the United States and in the last-32 defeat to Belgium.
Eberl described the move as validation of the Gambinos Stars pathway, with Ndiaye set to become the first player developed through the partnership to establish himself at Bayern Munich's top level. He is expected to operate as a central midfielder and could compete for playing time following Leon Goretzka's departure at the end of his contract this summer.
Ndiaye's route to Munich began with a two-week training camp at Bayern's Campus in October 2024, during which his Gambinos Stars side beat Bayern's own Under-19 team in a friendly, before he was formally loaned to the club in January.
He impressed sufficiently during that spell that Bayern's hierarchy moved to secure his long-term future well before the loan period had even concluded, with reports of an agreement in principle circulating for several weeks before Eberl's confirmation.
Once finalised, the deal will be Bayern's latest investment in young talent from outside Europe's traditional recruitment pipelines, following the club's broader push to identify prospects through partner academies rather than relying solely on established markets.
