Bayern Munich have added Brazilian prospect Eduardo Pape to their list of emerging midfield talents after watching the 17-year-old represent his country at an international youth tournament in Switzerland.

According to German newspaper Tz, a Bayern Munich scout attended the UEFA Friendship Cup in Nyon, where Pape featured for Brazil’s Under-18 side between 24 September and 3 October. The tournament gave the Bundesliga club an opportunity to assess the Cruzeiro youngster in person.

Pape has yet to make his senior debut for Cruzeiro, but he has already produced encouraging numbers at youth level. The midfielder has recorded three goals and three assists in 32 appearances for the club’s Under-20 team, according to the supplied report.

His reputation rests on more than his contribution in the final third. Pape is a central midfielder praised for his reading of the game, composure in possession and ability to distribute the ball safely under pressure. Those qualities have prompted comparisons with former Barcelona and Spain star Sergio Busquets.

The Brazilian has also made progress on the international stage. He was among the leading scorers at the 2026 South American Under-17 Championship, further raising his profile among clubs monitoring young players in the region.

Bayern Munich are not the only European side said to be following his development. Reports have previously linked Pape with Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Monaco, suggesting that Cruzeiro could face competition if interest turns into formal approaches.

A potential transfer would not come cheaply. Brazilian reports cited by *tz* indicate that Cruzeiro would seek at least €40 million for the teenager. That figure remains an reported asking price rather than an agreed valuation or confirmed offer from Bayern.

Pape’s contract with Cruzeiro runs through the 2029 season, giving the Brazilian club a degree of security as interest in the midfielder grows. Bayern have not publicly confirmed a bid, and there is no indication that a transfer is imminent.

For now, the Munich club’s reported scouting activity represents an early step in assessing a player whose technical ability and international progress have attracted attention well before his senior breakthrough.
