The France international joined Bayern from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 and has quickly established himself as one of the German champions’ most influential attacking players. His performances have attracted interest from leading European clubs, with Real Madrid and Liverpool among those previously linked with him.
According to Bild football editor Christian Falk, Olise would favour a move to Spain over a return to the Premier League if he eventually decides to leave Munich.
“Michael Olise prefers a move to Spain,” Falk wrote on *CF Bayern Insider*, while noting that a return to England could not be ruled out. He added that the winger was particularly excited by Real Madrid, with the Spanish club also said to admire him.
Falk also identified Manchester City as a potential rival, depending on whether they make an attractive offer. There is no confirmation that either club has submitted a bid.
Bayern’s immediate priority is to secure Olise’s long-term future. His current contract runs until 2029 and contains no release clause, but reports have suggested that negotiations over an extension could involve a significant salary increase and a possible buyout clause.
A figure of at least €200 million has been discussed in reports about a potential release clause, although no agreement has been announced. Olise is reportedly seeking such a provision as part of any new contract, while Bayern Munich would want to protect their position over one of their most valuable players.
The 24-year-old has made an outstanding start to the current campaign, with eight goals and four assists in nine competitive appearances before his dismissal against Viking FK in the Champions League.
That red card came during Bayern’s 3-3 draw in Stavanger on Tuesday, but it has not altered the wider interest in his future.
For now, Bayern remain in a strong contractual position. Olise’s reported preference for Real Madrid is not confirmation of an impending departure, and any move would depend on the player’s intentions, negotiations between the clubs and the terms of a potential deal.
