Nottingham Forest's captain has already been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in recent days, and talkSPORT now reports that Bayern Munich have entered the race, with the Bundesliga champions "one of the main candidates" to sign him, a move that would reunite him with England team-mate Harry Kane.
Any deal will not come cheap. Forest sold Elliot Anderson to Manchester City for £116 million over the summer, easing the pressure on the club's finances and giving owner Evangelos Marinakis little incentive to sanction another major departure.
Marinakis blocked Tottenham's attempt to trigger a release clause in Gibbs-White's contract two years ago, and head coach Oliver Glasner has already stated publicly that the midfielder is not for sale.
Gibbs-White came through Wolverhampton Wanderers' academy, had loan spells at Swansea City and Sheffield United, and has gone on to make 176 appearances for Forest, scoring 37 goals and providing 37 assists.
He has been capped six times by England, and signed a new contract at the City Ground in July 2025 that runs until the summer of 2028, reported to be worth up to £140,000 a week including bonuses and making him Forest's highest-paid player.
Gibbs-White registered 18 goal involvements during the 2026 calendar year, the most of any English player, having scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in 2025-26 as Forest reached the Europa League semi-finals.
For now, Bayern's interest amounts to background scouting rather than an advanced approach, with no offer yet made.
