Boly, born in 2009, is considered one of the most exciting young full-backs in Europe and has been tracked by Barcelona's scouts for several months, with staff reportedly watching him in person during PSG's UEFA Youth League semi-final against Real Madrid.
The teenager has already trained with Luis Enrique's senior squad and made his first-team debut in the Coupe de France against VendΓ©e Fontenay in December, before a injury cut his appearance short after half an hour.
He has since returned to PSG's youth setup but remains a key figure, helping the club reach the Youth League semi-finals and with the Gambardella Cup final on 22 May still to come.
His contract with PSG runs until 2027, and critically he has not yet signed a professional deal or accepted any of the renewal offers presented by the club.
That contractual uncertainty is what makes the operation viable for Barcelona. Any move before the contract expires would require direct negotiation with PSG β a club with whom relations are already strained following the Fernandez affair. Barcelona would need PSG's cooperation, or would have to wait and rely on Boly's own desire to force a move.
PSG regard Boly as a key element for the future of the squad, and are unlikely to make the process straightforward.
Ajax, Porto, and Bayer Leverkusen have also registered interest in the player, according to reports, adding competitive pressure to Barcelona's pursuit.
Hansi Flick's side have a clear need in the position, making Boly a logical and high-upside target if a deal can be structured.
