Hansi Flick won La Liga in a Clásico at Camp Nou on the day his father died, delivering a raw and emotional speech that left his players and the Barcelona crowd in tears, insisting he could think of nowhere else he would rather have been.

Barcelona clinched back-to-back La Liga titles with a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid through first-half goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres. Flick emerged from the dressing room to speak to the media composed but visibly moved, carrying the weight of a personal loss and a historic triumph simultaneously.

He opened his address with characteristic simplicity.

"I will never forget this moment. My team is fantastic and I am delighted. Very proud of my players. It is special — with the supporters, in a Clásico, beating Real Madrid."

He reflected on the quality of Barcelona's performance with equal directness.

"We played very well, defended very well and scored two great goals. We controlled the ball, we defended well — I am happy with that and with the atmosphere in the stadium."

He then turned to the subject that made the afternoon unlike any other in his coaching career.

"This morning my mother called me and told me my father had passed away. I thought about whether it would be better to say something or not tell the team. But in the end it is like a family and I wanted to tell them — and I will never forget how they reacted."

He paused before continuing.

"I am very happy to work for this magnificent team. I had never felt so much warmth. It is incredible. From the first contact I had with the president and with Deco, when I arrived in Barcelona, everyone welcomed us so well. I feel very proud and I think you can see the connection we have."

He addressed the season as a whole, noting what had made this campaign different from the first.

"We have had many injuries, many things have happened. I thought the second year would be more difficult but I think we have been at a fantastic level. We have not scored as many goals but we have defended better, especially towards the end of the season. When you see so many young players — it is incredible."

He has three matches remaining in which he wants to reach 100 points — a target that would be a La Liga record.

"We have to play three more games and we want to reach 100 points."

He closed with characteristic brevity when asked about his ambitions.

"I dreamed of this. And I have more dreams."
