The 21-year-old Norwegian has produced three goals and two assists in his first six appearances of the campaign, adding greater end product to the dribbling ability that has long made him one of Europe's most highly rated young wingers.
Barcelona have recently been linked with Nusa, but they are not alone in monitoring the player. According to The Sun, Arsenal are now leading the race and could consider a January move.
Arsenal's interest is partly explained by their options on the left wing. The club lost Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli and, although Christos Tzolis arrived, they had wanted another established player for the position.
Tzolis has since suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty, potentially increasing the urgency for Arsenal to strengthen in the position.
Nusa would offer a different profile. The winger is renowned for his ability to beat defenders and has developed a reputation as one of the outstanding dribblers in European football.
His finishing and creativity have previously been regarded as areas where he needed to improve, but the opening weeks of this season suggest that progress is being made.
That development is likely to increase his value. Nusa remains under contract with RB Leipzig until June 2029, meaning Arsenal would face a difficult negotiation if they decide to make an approach.
The report claims it would take at least €60 million to prise him away from Germany.
Arsenal would also face competition. Barcelona remain interested, while Tottenham and Aston Villa have also been credited with following the winger.
For Nusa, the interest represents a significant change from the criticism that his end product had attracted during previous campaigns. His three goals and two assists from six matches have given the Norwegian a more convincing statistical return to accompany his ability in one-on-one situations.
Arsenal's need on the left could therefore coincide with Nusa's improving form at an ideal moment for the player.
A January deal would nevertheless require the Gunners to meet Leipzig's valuation and convince the German club to part with a player tied down for several more seasons.
