Alaba's contract at Real Madrid ended at the start of July, and almost three months on he remains without a club, despite no apparent shortage of offers.
His father and agent, George Alaba, told the Kronen Zeitung: "There have been numerous enquiries. From the USA, from Europe, everywhere."
The lengthy wait had fuelled speculation that the 34-year-old defender might be considering retirement, something his father was quick to rule out.
"It will continue, I know that. He will carry on."
Alaba has most recently been linked with Mexican giants Club América and Bundesliga side Union Berlin, but neither move appears close, and George Alaba said his son will make a decision soon.
"How things continue, he will announce soon. He is doing extremely well."
Asked about a possible return to boyhood club Austria Vienna, he added that the timing was not yet right, despite calls from the club: "David has received calls. They want him, and he wants it too, but at the moment it is a little too early for him. He still has a lot planned when it comes to football."
Alaba left Real Madrid after five seasons in which he won nine trophies, including two Champions League titles, but injuries limited him to a peripheral role in his final campaign, making only 13 appearances. He captained Austria at this summer's World Cup before becoming a free agent.
