Speaking to TNT Sports immediately after PSG's 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Arsenal in Budapest, Al-Khelaïfi was expansive on every subject from the final itself to the club's future direction.
On the achievement of back-to-back titles, he was emphatic.
"Today is an amazing historic day. Back to back — it's not easy. The Champions League is difficult. So proud of the team, of the coach, of the staff, of the fans. Everybody doubted us again, but thank God we made it and we believed."
He revealed that he had sensed the outcome during the first half.
"I told my guys after the first half — we are going to win. I promise you, I felt it before the match. I know it was tough. Bad luck to Arsenal — great team, fantastic team. All the best. Big respect for them."
On Enrique, who has now won two Champions Leagues in two full seasons at the club, Al-Khelaïfi stopped short of a formal extension announcement but left no ambiguity about his view.
"He is very, very special — as a coach, as a human being, as a person. He is fantastic. He's the best coach in the world. He has done amazing with the team, with a young team. I cannot answer the question but I'm really confident, and it's all about the project — and he is the best one for the project."
When asked whether PSG would return to the transfer market after a season in which they largely maintained their existing squad, the president confirmed recruitment is coming.
"I promise you, we are OK. Of course we will be going to the market."
Enrique's contract runs until June 2027. The president's words suggest that timeline will extend.
