Brighton have been preparing for a demanding run of domestic and European fixtures, with the league phase beginning against Kauno Zalgiris on 15 October.
“I’m hoping that we will have many good performances and many good results,” Bloom told The Argus.
“Obviously, winning leagues, winning trophies is really difficult, but I do think, for the men’s side, we’ve got a real chance.
“Obviously, the Conference League is a very winnable tournament compared to other tournaments we’ve played in.”
The chairman has made no secret of his ambition to deliver a first major trophy to the club, and sees the Conference League as a realistic route to doing so.
Brighton will then travel to Jablonec and Getafe, with the European fixtures arriving during a difficult domestic spell that also includes visits to Liverpool and Manchester City.
Bloom accepts the schedule will test the squad but believes Brighton are better equipped for the demands of European football than they were three years ago.
“We’re really looking forward to it. We know there’s an element of pressure, we should embrace that pressure.
“We should look forward to it. Our fans definitely are looking forward to it.
“We’ve got the experiences of three years ago.
“We know how difficult it is, playing the Thursday night and then Sunday afternoon.
“We’re a bit more used to it as a club.
“We know what the schedule’s like. We know, after the international break, what a tough run of fixtures we’ve got, but I think we are fully prepared for it.”
The confidence is also based on squad depth, with Bloom describing the current group as the best Brighton have assembled.
The club will need that depth as it balances its Premier League campaign with European commitments, while Hurzeler’s side seeks to make a serious challenge for silverware.
Bloom’s assessment reflects the opportunity facing Brighton as they return to European competition and attempt to turn a promising squad into a trophy-winning team.
Brighton have already experienced European football and Bloom believes that knowledge will help the squad handle the rhythm of Thursday and Sunday fixtures. The chairman also wants the club to approach the competition with ambition rather than treating it as a distraction from domestic targets.
