The France centre-back joined West Ham on loan from Chelsea in February for a reported fee of £1.7 million, arriving after spending the first half of the season entirely frozen out of Enzo Maresca's squad at Stamford Bridge. He quickly established himself as one of the more dependable defenders in the second half of the campaign.
West Ham United kept a clean sheet in five of the 13 league matches Disasi started. He was voted man of the match on three occasions. Manager Nuno Espírito Santo was keen to retain him, and West Ham had planned to explore a permanent deal of around £20 million if they survived relegation. That option is now closed.
Disasi's contract with Chelsea runs until June 2027. Foot Mercato report that his revival at the London Stadium has not gone unnoticed by clubs in the Premier League and across Europe, and that several sides have already begun making enquiries. Given the quality of his performances, a permanent exit from Stamford Bridge is now considered highly likely — the question is simply where he ends up.
His situation at Chelsea next season is uncertain regardless. Xabi Alonso inherits a squad with Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah all ahead of Disasi in the defensive pecking order.
His next club will inherit a player who needed only a change of environment to rediscover his best form. That tends to attract interest quickly.
