Darvich spent last season in VfB Stuttgart's reserve side in the third division, scoring 10 goals and contributing six assists in 29 appearances. He is regarded as one of the most promising young number tens in Germany.
Elversberg sporting director Christian Weber was direct about what he expects Darvich to add.
"Noah has excellent technical qualities and is rightly considered one of the most promising talents in Germany in the number ten role," Weber said. "He understands the game, can operate between the lines and is efficient in the final third. With these attributes he will enrich our attacking play and we are convinced he will develop very well with us."
Darvich was born in Freiburg and came through the Stuttgart academy, where he remains under first-team contract. The loan to Elversberg offers him regular senior football in the Bundesliga โ a significant step up from third-division reserve football.
Elversberg earned promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in their history last season after winning the 2.Bundesliga title. The Saarland club have built a reputation for identifying and developing young players. Darvich fits that model.
For Stuttgart, the loan is a logical way to give Darvich competitive exposure without removing him from their long-term plans. Bundesliga football at Elversberg โ where he is likely to play a significant role rather than compete for minutes against established internationals โ represents the kind of accelerated development path the club will want for one of their more highly regarded academy products.
Stuttgart have one of the stronger youth pipelines in German football, with the club's Akademie having produced and developed several players who have gone on to Bundesliga and international careers. Darvich is the latest to be sent out with the expectation of returning as a more complete footballer.
