Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Cadena COPE journalist argued that multiple sources have confirmed the Norwegian's desire to move to the Santiago Bernabéu, despite Real Madrid's well-stocked forward line already featuring Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior.
"If Dortmund's president said Haaland's dream is to play for Madrid, then don't blame me and Felix for saying it too - he's the one who said it," Martín said, referring to fellow journalist José Félix Díaz of AS.
"I know plenty of people will say it's just smoke and mirrors, whatever. But I've heard about Haaland's clause from Felix, and I've heard it from other people too.
"I think this is going to happen at some point, whether at Madrid or elsewhere in the market. When? I don't know. I know everyone can see there isn't room for him, but..."
For now, what can be confirmed is that Haaland remains under contract with Manchester City until June 2034. According to various sources, that deal includes a release clause that could ease his departure, with the figure said to have fallen below €200 million over time.
Rumours aside, what is beyond dispute is that the Norwegian remains one of the most complete and reliable strikers in world football. He has barely noticed the change of manager at City this season, from Pep Guardiola to Enzo Maresca, and has already scored six goals in as many official matches.
Talk of a move to Madrid has circulated for years, dating back to comments from Dortmund's hierarchy before Haaland's switch to Manchester in 2022, and has resurfaced periodically as Real Madrid continue to be linked with assembling a forward line built around Mbappé, Vinicius and the Norwegian.
Any deal, were it to materialise, would represent one of the most significant transfers in the sport, given Haaland's status as arguably the outstanding out-and-out striker of his generation.
Martín's comments echo those made previously by Dortmund's own hierarchy, who suggested last year that Haaland could eventually complete a move to the Bernabéu once his release clause becomes more financially viable for Real Madrid to activate, potentially as soon as 2027.
