Camavinga has now spoken about the disappointment of being left out of France’s World Cup squad, describing it as an unfamiliar setback in his career.
“I think that right now what determines things is consistency,” Camavinga said.
“The most important thing is to concentrate on the pitch and not make mistakes. That gives you consistency.”
The midfielder acknowledged that failing to make the World Cup squad was particularly difficult because of the importance players attach to the tournament.
“The fact that I didn't play in the World Cup affected me quite a lot because every player dreams of playing in the competition,” he said.
Camavinga also recognised that overcoming the disappointment will require patience rather than an immediate solution.
“Rome wasn't built in a day,” he said. “These kinds of disappointments hadn't happened to me in my career. It is something that has to be overcome.”

Camavinga arrived at Real Madrid from Rennes in 2021 and has since become an important part of the squad, capable of playing both in midfield and at left-back.
