Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport from Milan's training camp in Perth, Pavlovic, now entering his third season at the club since arriving from RB Salzburg in 2024, said he felt fortunate to keep working alongside the Croatian, who turns 41 in September.
"It's incredible to know that he will stay with us for at least another season. Maybe even longer, we'll see... Luka is an extraordinary person. When you have a champion like him by your side, you can learn so much: he is much older than me, but when we are together it feels like we are the same age. We can talk about anything because he is truly a great man," Pavlovic said.
Asked what specifically he has picked up from training alongside the former Real Madrid midfielder, Pavlovic pointed to Modric's professionalism above all else.
"First of all, the way he lives football. He's an extraordinary professional, and I get the feeling that every minute he spends at Milanello has a precise purpose: from his pre-training routine to how he looks after his body.
"He's 41 and you never see him tired on the pitch, nor does he ever give the impression he doesn't want to do something — he's always the first to run, and he does it with a big smile. For me it's incredible to see that he still has all this passion for football. Where do I see myself at his age? I don't know. I hope I'm like him," he said.
Away from Modric, Milan continue to be linked with a move for Roma forward Matias Soulé as Ruben Amorim looks to reshape his attack, with the 22-year-old also drawing interest from Fiorentina, where sporting director Fabio Paratici worked with him during his time at Juventus.
Milan-focused journalist Carlo Pellegatti addressed the speculation on his YouTube channel: "There's always this vague rumour about Soulé. It's true he's been offered to Milan, but Roma want €30-35m. If you've noticed, every negotiation used to have a €10m base.
"Then it moved to €20m as the starting auction price. Now for any player the base is €30-35m. Whether he's played well or not played at all, the base is always €30-35m. Roma want the same €30-35m for Soulé too, in order to reinvest it in the market looking for a winger."
Soulé, who joined Roma from Juventus in the summer of 2024, has been offered to Milan by intermediaries in recent weeks as the club searches for a left-footed player capable of playing off the front man, having missed out on Genk's Konstantinos Karetsas, who chose Borussia Dortmund instead. Roma have signalled they are open to a sale, though talks remain at an early stage.
