Napoli have been presented with the chance to sign Atletico Madrid full-back Nahuel Molina, according to SportMediaset, as Diego Simeone's side continue reshaping their squad this summer.

The move comes with Atletico Madrid closing in on a deal to sign Kang-In Lee from Paris Saint-Germain for around €40m, their second major addition of the window after left-back Alejandro Grimaldo. Attention inside the club now turns to potential departures that could help fund further business.

Julián Álvarez's situation continues to be monitored closely, with the striker having made his desire to leave clear, but it is other fringe figures who look more likely to move on before the market closes.

Molina, who scored twice and provided four assists in 45 appearances last season, has reportedly been made available if the right offer arrives. The 28-year-old Argentine right-back has been floated to Napoli by his representatives, and the Serie A club — under the ownership of Aurelio De Laurentiis — are said to have been tracking him for some time as they continue searching for defensive reinforcements to fit their new manager's system.

Whether Napoli push to formalise an approach remains to be seen, though the interest adds Molina to the growing list of Atletico players whose futures look uncertain heading into the closing weeks of the transfer window. For Simeone, any departure would need to be balanced against the club's ongoing efforts to refresh a squad already shaped by considerable summer turnover.

For Napoli, the interest fits a broader pattern under incoming head coach Massimiliano Allegri, who is set to be presented in Naples on 14 July. Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already signalled he expects the squad to be trimmed down from its current size, suggesting any new arrival would likely be balanced by departures elsewhere in the squad rather than representing pure squad expansion.

Napoli have also been busy off the pitch this week, unveiling a new home shirt to mark their upcoming centenary, underlining a summer of activity across both the transfer market and the club's wider commercial plans.
