AC Milan had already considered Endrick during the summer and could revisit the possibility when the January transfer window opens. The 19-year-old forward remains highly regarded in Madrid, but competition for attacking places has made consistent playing time difficult to secure.
Endrick has also had to contend with fitness problems, which have slowed his progress since moving to Spain. If his opportunities remain limited over the coming months, a temporary move could become increasingly attractive to all parties.
Milan are monitoring the situation because they see Endrick as a player with the technical quality, age and potential to develop into an important forward. A loan would allow him to play more regularly without Real Madrid giving up control of a player they continue to regard as part of their long-term plans.
The Italian club is not alone in its interest, with competition likely to increase if Madrid signal that a temporary move is possible. Roma have also made initial enquiries with the player’s representatives, while other European clubs could become involved if Real Madrid decide that a temporary departure would benefit his development.
Milan could have an additional advantage through their relationship with Roc Nation, the agency representing Endrick. That connection could help facilitate discussions if the situation develops, although there is currently no formal negotiation.
Much will depend on what happens between now and January. If Endrick begins to receive more regular opportunities in Madrid, the possibility of a loan could quickly disappear. If his minutes remain restricted, however, Milan could make another attempt to bring him to Italy.
Real Madrid are unlikely to consider a permanent sale given their long-term plans for the Brazilian. A temporary move therefore appears the more realistic route, with Milan watching very closely to see whether the circumstances change enough to make a January approach possible.
