Milan have identified Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott as a major target for the future as they consider their long-term midfield plans.

The 23-year-old has emerged as one of Bournemouth’s most prominent players and has also forced his way into the England setup after progressing through the national youth teams.

Scott was born in Guernsey and began his career there before moving to Bristol City, where he was named the Championship’s young player of the season in 2023.

He joined Bournemouth in August 2023 and made his Premier League debut against Wolverhampton later that year.

The midfielder can operate both in front of the defence and further forward, giving him the versatility that has attracted interest from leading clubs.

AC Milan see Scott as a potential long-term investment and reportedly view him as a candidate to help fill the midfield role eventually vacated by Luka Modric.

The Italian club’s interest has been complicated by competition from the Premier League, with Arsenal and Chelsea also monitoring the Bournemouth midfielder.

Scott’s profile has risen significantly during the past year. He was part of England’s Under-21 side that won the European Championship in 2025 before earning his senior debut against the Czech Republic in September.

He subsequently made his first England start against Croatia, although an injury forced him out of the international picture shortly afterwards.

Bournemouth are also understood to be preparing for the possibility of significant interest in their midfielder, having begun looking at potential replacements.

The club have reportedly identified AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit as one possible option for the future.

Scott’s development means his value has continued to rise since his move from Bristol City, while his ability to play in multiple midfield positions makes him an attractive proposition for clubs looking to strengthen their options.

Milan’s interest therefore represents a significant development, but any attempt to sign him would face strong competition from England.

For now, Bournemouth remain in control of the situation, with Scott continuing to develop into an established Premier League and international midfielder.

His emergence with England has only strengthened the case for leading European clubs to monitor his progress closely.
