He likes what he sees.
The club promoted a coach who knows the environment inside out and added experience up front — including Andrea Belotti.
He told Football Presse, “Belotti is a real centre-forward. Strong in the air, attacks space, plays as a reference point. That’s what they needed.”
He’s also intrigued by the talent of Sebastiano Esposito, though he sees him more as a second striker than a true No.9.
With youth, hunger and experience combined, Sanna is confident: Cagliari can survive comfortably.
As for Italy?
He welcomes the arrival of Gennaro Gattuso as national team coach.
“He’s positive, prepared, and he cares deeply about the shirt.”
Sanna admits Italy are in a transitional phase, short of firepower up front, but insists there are exciting young players coming through.
“The real Italy — we’ll see it in a few years. If the young players grow, we’ll see the results.”
From the Sardinian climb to Serie A survival fights and national pride — Sanna speaks like a man who’s lived every step of it.
