Dutch outlet Voetbal International reports that Juventus and Roma lead Serie A interest, with AC Milan also in the frame having come close to signing the 31-year-old during the winter window when Guardiola intervened due to an injury crisis in the City backline.
With that crisis resolved and Marc Guehi now established alongside Rúben Dias, Aké has not started a Premier League match since January's derby defeat to Manchester United.
Aké has made 174 appearances for City across six seasons, contributing ten goals since his £40 million arrival from Bournemouth in 2020. His versatility across both centre-back and left-back positions has made him a useful squad player, but the emergence of Abdukodir Khusanov and the continued presence of Josko Gvardiol have reduced his role to the periphery.
Manchester City are expected to seek a fee of €10-15 million for a player contracted until 2027 — a significant reduction from what he cost. Whether Italian clubs can accommodate the move financially is a further hurdle: Aké earns around €190,000 per week at the Etihad, which sits above the typical ceiling for Serie A's highest-paid defenders, and a pay cut would be required.
PSV Eindhoven have also been linked but Aké is understood to want to remain in one of Europe's top five leagues, ruling out a return to the Netherlands. West Ham United were the most advanced English option in January before Aké declined to move to the London Stadium.
With Champions League qualification on the line in Serie A — Juventus and AS Roma are separated by a single point with three matches remaining — the destination most likely to attract Aké is the club that secures European football. He holds 58 senior caps for the Netherlands and is expected to feature in the World Cup squad this summer.
