Mesloub scored the winner on his first Ligue 1 appearance in May and has since made his full debut for Lens, starting the 2-1 defeat by Monaco earlier this month.
The attacking midfielder signed his first professional contract with Lens in July and has already attracted interest from clubs around Europe.
Mesloub was born in France but has chosen to represent Portugal at youth level. He made his Portugal Under-21 debut in a 2-1 defeat by Bulgaria last week.
Manchester United are among the clubs keeping tabs on his development, although there is currently no indication that a transfer has been agreed or that a move has been formally arranged.
Any potential move to England would also have to wait. Premier League clubs cannot sign overseas players at youth level until they turn 18 under the post-Brexit rules outlined in the report.
Mesloub will turn 18 in November next year, meaning the earliest he could move to England would be the January 2028 transfer window.
United's interest comes as the club continues to strengthen its academy. The situation has become particularly relevant following 15-year-old JJ Gabriel's decision to tell the club he wants to leave.
Gabriel has been training individually, with United staff not expecting him to return to the Carrington training complex.
