Manchester United have identified Nottingham Forest centre-back Murillo as one of their leading targets to strengthen the defence this summer, according to RTI Esporte.
The 23-year-old Brazilian has established himself as one of Forest's standout performers, with United's hierarchy closely monitoring his progress and having already carried out internal assessments on the feasibility of a deal at the start of the transfer window.
Juventus defender Bremer is also on United's list of options, with competition for the Brazilian centre-back expected to be intense behind the scenes.
Forest, however, are seeking a significant fee for Murillo, with reports suggesting the club want around £70m to open negotiations over his sale. Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is said to be in no rush to force through a departure, but the valuation reflects both Murillo's recent form and the progress he has made since arriving in English football.
That figure represents a substantial increase on the roughly €12m Forest paid Corinthians to sign Murillo in June 2023, a fee considered a gamble at the time for a player still taking his first steps in professional football.
Since arriving in England, Murillo has built a reputation for his anticipation, physical strength and composure in possession, becoming a key figure for Forest in one of the most demanding leagues in world football. His consistent development has led an increasing number of clubs to track his situation closely.
Strengthening at centre-back has become a priority for Manchester United, with the club's hierarchy convinced the position needs renewal and viewing Murillo as a player capable of delivering both immediate performance and future resale value.
Murillo's rise has also placed him among the candidates considered for Brazil's number four shirt, with his consistent performances in the Premier League drawing comparisons to several more established names in the national team picture.
Whether United are prepared to meet Forest's valuation, particularly with Bremer also under consideration, will likely determine the shape of the club's defensive rebuild this summer.
