Balde, 22, has spent his entire career at Barcelona, being promoted to the first team in the summer of 2022 and establishing himself at the Catalan giants ever since his breakthrough at the club.
The Spain international has, however, been hit by injuries during several spells, and is under contract until the summer of 2028, fuelling speculation that his future may lie away from Barcelona, with Manchester United previously being linked as a possible destination for him.
United ultimately chose not to make a concrete move during the summer window, continuing instead to trust 31-year-old Luke Shaw as their first-choice left-back despite his contract situation heading into its final year at Old Trafford.
Now, Catalan newspaper Sport reports that another English giant has shown interest in the full-back. According to the report, it is Liverpool who are closely monitoring Balde's situation, with head coach Andoni Iraola said to view him as a highly interesting option for the squad going forward.
Any concrete move would, however, only be considered if a good market opportunity presents itself, according to the report from Spain, rather than a move being actively pursued at this stage of the season.
Relations between the two clubs are said to be strong following the swift loan move of Ronald Araujo from Barcelona to Liverpool over the summer, a deal that has worked well for both parties so far this season.
Balde has a release clause of one billion euros, but according to the newspaper could be available for around €40 million, equivalent to roughly 450 million Swedish kronor, should Barcelona be open to a sale in the near future.
Liverpool already have Milos Kerkez, 22, at left-back, who is under contract until the summer of 2030, meaning any move for Balde would add further competition in that position at Anfield.
