Yusuf Akhamrich has become Leyton Orient's sixth summer signing, joining the League One club on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 20-year-old had a taste of first-team involvement at Spurs, sitting among the substitutes back in November 2025, and his form since has earned him a maiden Morocco Under-23 call-up in March. It followed a productive half-season at Bristol Rovers, where he found the net six times and set up three more in 19 League Two outings.

Akhamrich joins fellow new arrivals Tony Springett, Fin Stevens, Armando Dobra, Nathan Baxter and Isaac Hayden at Brisbane Road this summer.

"I'm buzzing to get this done and join an amazing club," Akhamrich said. "I like what the gaffer has going with the players, he knows what he wants and he's demanding in the right ways.

"I had a really positive loan last season and now I want to test myself at League One level. You've got to give your all for the teams you play for and I want to bring that winning mentality. I like to excite people when I get the ball. I'm a very positive and direct player and I hope that I can help us to have a good season.

"I grew up locally to the club in Tower Hamlets, so it will be a special feeling to pull on that shirt for the first time."

Head coach Richie Wellens said: "Yusuf's loan at Bristol Rovers was a brilliant experience for him. He came into a losing team and played a massive part in turning them around. By end of the season, he was used to winning - which is a great habit to get into.

"He's an extremely talented lad and we all hope he has the chance to show that off this season. I'd like to also thank Spurs for trusting us with another one of their bright, young talents."

Director of football Scott Mitchell added: "We're really pleased that Yusuf sees Orient as the best platform to make an impact and continue his development in senior football. He's an exciting young talent with a style of play that catches the eye. He brings pace and the ability to take on defenders - making him a constant threat in the final third."

A north London native, Akhamrich rose through the Spurs system, notching 25 goals for the under-16s before a Premier League Cup double alongside the under-17s and under-18s. With family roots in Morocco, he is eligible to represent either nation at senior level.
