According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 21-year-old was collected from Linate airport before being taken to the Humanitas clinic and CONI for the first round of checks.
Inter Milan have agreed a deal worth €25million plus bonuses with Union Saint-Gilloise, with Khalaili set to earn around €2.2million net per season. The move represents the most lucrative sale in Union Saint-Gilloise's history, with Inter having negotiated directly with the Belgian club and fended off competition from Napoli in the process.
Khalaili becomes Inter's second signing of the summer following goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, and will take over on the right flank from Denzel Dumfries, who left for Real Madrid.
With the right-back position resolved, Inter's attention now turns to central defence, where Cristian Chivu wants at least two new additions to fill the void left by the departures of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij. Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah remains top of the list, a player Inter have tracked for several seasons and who has already made clear his willingness to move to Italy.
With Como now out of the running, the main obstacle is Chelsea's valuation of at least €35million; Inter have yet to submit a formal offer but are considering their next move.
Given Chelsea's demands, Inter are also keeping other options open, including Bologna's Jhon Lucumi. Although left-footed, when Inter are primarily seeking a right-sided centre-back, Lucumi's pace suits Chivu's high defensive line and his existing knowledge of Serie A would remove any adaptation period.
Lucumi, out of contract in 2027, has a release clause of €28million valid until 15 July, after which Bologna could be open to a deal worth around €20million, potentially including academy midfielder Tommaso Akinsanmiro as makeweight.
Competition for Lucumi has cooled, with Juventus, Sunderland and Nottingham Forest all having gone quiet, meaning Inter's final decision is likely to come after 15 July.
